Věra Eliášová holds a PhD in English literature from Rutgers University, USA. Her research interests lie at the border between Anglophone and Central European literatures, modernism and urban space. As a senior lecturer in the Center for Academic Writing at CEU PU in Vienna, Věra teaches courses in academic and policy writing as well as in modernist writing. In that capacity, she also consults with BA, MA and PhD students across all CEU departments. Her pedagogical experience spans multiple countries, including the Czech Republic, the United States, Hungary and Austria. Her publications have appeared in many international journals, such as Contemporary Literature or European Journal of Women's Studies. Most recently, Věra has published a book chapter, "The Mobile Imagination in European Women’s Writing of Modernism and its Contemporary Resonances," in Times of Mobility: Transnational Literature and Gender in Translation, published by CEU Press in 2020. Currently, Věra is working on her contribution to the planned publication on transnational European women writers as part of the CEU's EUTERPE (European Literatures and Gender from a Transnational Perspective) project.
